CHEC potluck
Somehow I totally forgot to blog about the CHEC picnic last Saturday evening! I uploaded the pics and then forgot about them. ADD woman, that's me. :)
The potluck was at this lovely farm of a family in our group. They have some gorgeous acreage near Diana. Their home is up on the top of a hill, offering some breathtaking views of the Piney Woods. Such a beautiful spot for the picnic. It was great to get to introduce Tom to all my CHEC friends I'm always talking about and also meet their husbands.
Midway through the evening, I abandoned Laura with the baby and took off hiking with Brayden. I was so in love with their land. I was just aching to explore the woods and hills and rolling meadows that made me want to sing "The hills are alive with the sound of music!!" It was great. Brayden did a great job keeping up - their house was at the top of one steep hill, so we hiked down the back of that, across the field and up another big hill with wonderful views. I wasn't able to capture in the pictures just how high up we were. Then we circled back around the hill the house was on to the horses. Brayden wasn't too sure of them, and I really can't blame him. He's never been around horses and they're like 10x's his size! He touched one's nose and that was the end of that. :) By the time we got back people were already leaving. I wish I'd gotten to visit more, but it was fun hanging out with Brayden too. :)
We have plans to go back on Tuesday. This was Taylor's friend, Ilsa's house and Kim (Ilsa's mom) invited us out so Taylor could ride horses with Ilsa! I hope Kim doesn't mind watching Aaron, 'cause I want to ride too! ;)
