My new sister
Meet Miss Emma Victoria. She's #14 for my parents. :) She and my mom are staying with us until they get clearance to leave the state. Adoptions are tricky. Miss Emma was born with two large holes in her heart, heart problems are common with down syndrome kids. She had open heart surgery last Tuesday to repair the holes. It went extraordinarily well and she was able to be released not even a week later. We went Wednesday to pick them up. I got to meet the birth mom briefly. It was a neat experience. It was a long day - the last hour of the drive home, BOTH babies were screaming. Not fun. But we made it home and settled in.
They are hoping to be able to go home (to eager siblings and daddy) tomorrow, but it's not a sure thing. They need lots of prayer that the adoption with be approved with ICPC and DHS in Tulsa. There's a lot of red tape this time and it's been hard on my mom.
She is a little trooper - she's eating a lot - making up for lost time. She only weighs around 8 lbs and she's 2 months old. Her cheeks are filling out quickly. She's such a cutie!
