Third of July??

Longview does their fireworks on the 3rd, which makes it nice.. we can still do our own little firecrackers on the Fourth. This was our first year to park at Maude Cobb to see them. We planned on going with about three other families and driving out together early to get good spots and tailgate before the fireworks. What actually happened was, we were the only ones who went early... we got there around 6:40, we ate alone and managed to save one spot for whoever showed up first. The Forringers pulled in around 8:20ish. :)

I say all that just to give Steff a hard time. :) Actually, it was just fine. The weather was gorgeous! It was sprinkling when we got there but it cleared off and was so cool and perfect! It was nice to have some family time, eat and chat, and then the friends got there about the time the kids started to get really bored. Then we talked.... and ate ... and waited... and ate some more. :) I came prepared with munchies, sweet tea and ice cold watermelon. :) It was great. The fireworks really were worth waiting for... the show started about 20 min late but lasted a good 20-25 min and the grand finale was awesome! The traffic afterwards was v-e-r-y slow going, but we made it out alive. :)
